About Grace 0.1

About Grace & Such

Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
~ Ephesians 4:3

In today’s political and cultural climate, with the overwhelming amount of social media, we are an unwilling audience to the hatred among Christians, among fellow believers. God’s grace abounds, yet so many show so little of it toward others. Grace & Such was started as a way to show healthy and gracious conversation, even when we are in disagreement. Our blog includes posts written by a diverse team of women whose only objectives are to share their grace journeys and show what grace-in-action really looks like to the community of believers who, at times, seems to have forgotten how.

Who We Are

As our tagline says, we are a bunch of women writing about grace. And such.

We are a diverse group of women, ranging in age from 20 to 60-something.

Some of us are married; some are divorced; some are single.

Some of us have children; some have grandchildren; some have neither.

Some of us are conservative; some are liberal; some are somewhere in between.

We don’t agree on everything and that’s okay. But here’s what we do agree on:

  • We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God
  • We believe in one God in three distinct, equal persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit
  • The Father is the creator of all
  • The Son (Jesus Christ) is our salvation and the only way to the Father
  • The Holy Spirit indwells followers of Jesus and is the source through which we are able to live godly lives

Our desire is to encourage other women as we share our thoughts and experiences as well as Biblical truths.

Love is a Discipline

By Jennifer Mobley Thompson | February 11, 2016

One of the most joyful days of my life was the day I became Mrs. Jennifer Thompson. Todd and I had come through a two year, long distance relationship with very few visits during that separation. It’s no lie when I say I was euphoric at the thought of getting to spend every day and every night with him from then on. It was paradise. Well, except for the homesick part. The day after our wedding in Southern California,…

All Things

By Tara Watson | February 10, 2016

As a (former) Weight Watchers leader, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard the words “I’m just not disciplined enough.” As a person who has struggled with her weight since childhood, I could easily buy into that excuse. It’d be kind of a relief actually. Yep, I’m just not a disciplined person, moving on… However, what I’ve come to realize is that discipline is a choice. Ooooh, ouch! I know. Discipline IS a choice and when we invite…

To Do or Not To Do

By Sis Steele | February 9, 2016

What lies in our power to do, lies in our power not to do. Aristotle Thanks to the enthusiasm of a friend, a West Point grad, I spent a good deal of last year watching three West Point grads work to become the first female Rangers, a military designation few accomplish. Now between family connections and WWII research, I know the discipline it takes to be in the military in the first place. Sure, a system is in place to…
