About Grace 0.1

About Grace & Such

Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
~ Ephesians 4:3

In today’s political and cultural climate, with the overwhelming amount of social media, we are an unwilling audience to the hatred among Christians, among fellow believers. God’s grace abounds, yet so many show so little of it toward others. Grace & Such was started as a way to show healthy and gracious conversation, even when we are in disagreement. Our blog includes posts written by a diverse team of women whose only objectives are to share their grace journeys and show what grace-in-action really looks like to the community of believers who, at times, seems to have forgotten how.

Who We Are

As our tagline says, we are a bunch of women writing about grace. And such.

We are a diverse group of women, ranging in age from 20 to 60-something.

Some of us are married; some are divorced; some are single.

Some of us have children; some have grandchildren; some have neither.

Some of us are conservative; some are liberal; some are somewhere in between.

We don’t agree on everything and that’s okay. But here’s what we do agree on:

  • We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God
  • We believe in one God in three distinct, equal persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit
  • The Father is the creator of all
  • The Son (Jesus Christ) is our salvation and the only way to the Father
  • The Holy Spirit indwells followers of Jesus and is the source through which we are able to live godly lives

Our desire is to encourage other women as we share our thoughts and experiences as well as Biblical truths.

And Be Thankful

By Courtney K. Steed | December 4, 2015

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  ~ Philippians 4:4-6 Such meat in these few little verses. This is one of my favorite passages of scripture. It has always fascinated me, how all these concepts flow together: Rejoicing, gentleness, anxiety, thanksgiving and prayer. The most fascinating part though, comes…

Peace in Troubled Times

By Sis Steele | December 2, 2015

Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still BE CALM IN YOUR HEART.  ~ Author unknown It’s Christmas. Well, to be truthful I’m writing this the week before Thanksgiving. Such is the life of a writer. This time of year is bittersweet for me. My mother’s late month birthday always falls around Thanksgiving, her favorite holiday. She’s been deceased…

Peace Without Peacefulness

By Jennifer Mobley Thompson | December 1, 2015

I am not a morning person. At all. Please don’t try to have a conversation with me first thing. Not until I’ve at least consumed some caffeine. In fact, reading through my personal blog, Jenster’s Musings, I notice the themes of “must have coffee” and “mornings are lame” scattered throughout. When I first wake up I want silence. I want the only sound to be that of my brewer and my slippered feet padding across the kitchen floor, moving toward…

Busy Again

By Natalie Liounis | November 30, 2015

When I finished graduate school, I was thankful for two main things: One, my email signature would now include letters after my name; and two, I would never, ever be that busy, ever again. Boy, was I wrong about the second one. A few weeks later, my husband and I moved to Maryland for him to work an internship with NASA. Not knowing if we would be there past mid-August, I didn’t look for a job in Maryland, but I…
