About Grace 0.1

About Grace & Such

Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
~ Ephesians 4:3

In today’s political and cultural climate, with the overwhelming amount of social media, we are an unwilling audience to the hatred among Christians, among fellow believers. God’s grace abounds, yet so many show so little of it toward others. Grace & Such was started as a way to show healthy and gracious conversation, even when we are in disagreement. Our blog includes posts written by a diverse team of women whose only objectives are to share their grace journeys and show what grace-in-action really looks like to the community of believers who, at times, seems to have forgotten how.

Who We Are

As our tagline says, we are a bunch of women writing about grace. And such.

We are a diverse group of women, ranging in age from 20 to 60-something.

Some of us are married; some are divorced; some are single.

Some of us have children; some have grandchildren; some have neither.

Some of us are conservative; some are liberal; some are somewhere in between.

We don’t agree on everything and that’s okay. But here’s what we do agree on:

  • We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God
  • We believe in one God in three distinct, equal persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit
  • The Father is the creator of all
  • The Son (Jesus Christ) is our salvation and the only way to the Father
  • The Holy Spirit indwells followers of Jesus and is the source through which we are able to live godly lives

Our desire is to encourage other women as we share our thoughts and experiences as well as Biblical truths.

Total Reboot

By Denise Frank | January 25, 2016

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.  The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. ~ 2 Corinthians 5:17 In computer jargon, a reboot is necessary when all that cyber gunk has our computer running less than optimal.  The cookies, from the sites visited, begin piling up in some folder on the hard drive and needs to be emptied.  The history, from the sites visited, becomes a long dated list of every web site…

One Step At A Time

By Courtney K. Steed | January 21, 2016

I love a new year. It makes me happy. It is all the freshness, the blank slate and all the potential waiting in those next 12 months looming ahead. It is the time of year that I love to get refocused on long simmering goals, and re-energizing those I may not have met during the last 12 months. I tend to be a bigger goal person. I see a lifestyle or a completed picture of where I want to go,…

Beginnings That Change Everything

By Diane Karchner | January 20, 2016

Let it be with me according to your word. ~Luke 1:38 In the beginning, God created it all. All.Of.It. From nothing. He created everything. And he did it by saying ‘let there be…’ and things just appeared. Air, clouds, dirt, oceans, deserts, birds and cows and flies. [pullquote width=”300″ float=”right”]Stars and angels sat on the grandstands, waving their pompoms and squealing with joy. [/pullquote]God seemed to wave his magic wand and stuff appeared. It was like a show. In the…

The Flip Side of New Year’s Resolutions

By Gretchen Hanna | January 19, 2016

Raise your hand if you have never written a New Year’s Resolution, never started SOMETHING new in January, never thought to yourself, “This time I’ll ________.” For example, “This time, I’ll remember that only old school (ahem) writers still double space at the end of a sentence, so I will remember to discipline my left thumb to tap merely once at the end of a thought.” I hope everyone’s hand is raised, because for this post to have any validity,…
