About Grace 0.1

About Grace & Such

Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
~ Ephesians 4:3

In today’s political and cultural climate, with the overwhelming amount of social media, we are an unwilling audience to the hatred among Christians, among fellow believers. God’s grace abounds, yet so many show so little of it toward others. Grace & Such was started as a way to show healthy and gracious conversation, even when we are in disagreement. Our blog includes posts written by a diverse team of women whose only objectives are to share their grace journeys and show what grace-in-action really looks like to the community of believers who, at times, seems to have forgotten how.

Who We Are

As our tagline says, we are a bunch of women writing about grace. And such.

We are a diverse group of women, ranging in age from 20 to 60-something.

Some of us are married; some are divorced; some are single.

Some of us have children; some have grandchildren; some have neither.

Some of us are conservative; some are liberal; some are somewhere in between.

We don’t agree on everything and that’s okay. But here’s what we do agree on:

  • We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God
  • We believe in one God in three distinct, equal persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit
  • The Father is the creator of all
  • The Son (Jesus Christ) is our salvation and the only way to the Father
  • The Holy Spirit indwells followers of Jesus and is the source through which we are able to live godly lives

Our desire is to encourage other women as we share our thoughts and experiences as well as Biblical truths.

God Promised

By Denise Frank | October 30, 2018

Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness. He also said to him, “I am the Lord, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to take possession of it.” But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, how can I know that I will gain possession of it? ~Genesis 15:6-8 {NIV} As the sun was setting, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and a thick and dreadful darkness came over him. Then the Lord said to him, “Know for certain that for four…

Golden Calves

By Natalie Liounis | October 26, 2018

During my undergrad, I became so obsessed with the idea of marrying my boyfriend (now husband) that one night, I found an image of a golden calf, put a text box with “MARRIAGE”  over top of it using Microsoft Word, and typed underneath the image, “THIS IS NOT YOUR IDOL.” I printed it out and taped it to the wall near my desk, where I would see it quite often. It was a visible reminder that my constant thoughts about…

Ask Not

By Laura Rodgers | October 24, 2018

Trust is a big deal to me. I want to know that I have people in my life that I can trust. But sometimes, I don’t trust myself, let alone anyone else. And I know I can and should trust God, but occasionally, I doubt that, too. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is trustworthy in all He promises and faithful in all He does. ~Psalm 145:13 {NIV} The other day,…

The Trust Struggle

By Rebecca Montie Preston | October 22, 2018

There’s no breaking news here. My struggle with trust during tough times is well documented in past Grace & Such blogposts I’ve written. I often express dismay at how I see my trust in God is found lacking. With all my long, long, long experience in being a child of God, I would have expected something different in my trust place by now. But here I am, still struggling to trust God in those places of deep hurt, pain, and…
