About Grace & Such
Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
~ Ephesians 4:3
In today’s political and cultural climate, with the overwhelming amount of social media, we are an unwilling audience to the hatred among Christians, among fellow believers. God’s grace abounds, yet so many show so little of it toward others. Grace & Such was started as a way to show healthy and gracious conversation, even when we are in disagreement. Our blog includes posts written by a diverse team of women whose only objectives are to share their grace journeys and show what grace-in-action really looks like to the community of believers who, at times, seems to have forgotten how.
Who We Are
As our tagline says, we are a bunch of women writing about grace. And such.
We are a diverse group of women, ranging in age from 20 to 60-something.
Some of us are married; some are divorced; some are single.
Some of us have children; some have grandchildren; some have neither.
Some of us are conservative; some are liberal; some are somewhere in between.
We don’t agree on everything and that’s okay. But here’s what we do agree on:
- We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God
- We believe in one God in three distinct, equal persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit
- The Father is the creator of all
- The Son (Jesus Christ) is our salvation and the only way to the Father
- The Holy Spirit indwells followers of Jesus and is the source through which we are able to live godly lives
Our desire is to encourage other women as we share our thoughts and experiences as well as Biblical truths.

Finding the Serenity in Change
“To everything there is a season.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8) What season is it for me? It’s change the mantel decor time. My home décor changes like clockwork. The beach pictures, antique sand pail, lightweight throws, and patio décor all go back into storage. I pull out the vintage quilts, autumn tree…

My husband and I have had many a conversation about whether or not people ever fundamentally change. He’s not so sure; I, on the other hand, am certain they can. Changing “me” is difficult. It takes work. It takes time. And, it takes a heart change. The wise, old troll’s…

My favorite color is purple. I’m always drawn to the hues of lavender, amethyst, and plum. Several years ago I read an article which said colors have meaning. Purple, according to this article, is the color of change. That idea resonated with me, as change has a dominant role in…

I have these jeans. ‘Boyfriend’ jeans. Although, to be honest, the Poolboy has been my boyfriend for 45 years and these sure ain’t his jeans. But I love them and since I am way-far from being a fashionista, that’s saying something. They don’t fit me particularly well. In fact, the…

I love fall. I never really knew how glorious it could be until I was 22. I had moved from the west coast to the beautiful Natural State just in time to find out how miserable hot and muggy summers were. But after months of profuse glistening things started to…
